The problem

Scalping punishes humans.

Execution is where most manual scalping breaks down — not analysis.

You hesitate

The setup appears and you wait half a second too long. On the fast timeframes, half a second changes the outcome of the trade.

You revenge-trade

Two losses in a row and the position size doubles. Every blown account has this somewhere in its history.

Your stops drift

You move the stop "just this once." A tool that places it mechanically never negotiates with itself.

What it does

Run it from your phone. Or your chart. Or leave it alone.

Lahoog runs two independent BUY and SELL baskets on one pair, and gives you three different ways to drive it — full auto, manual seeding from the panel, or a helper mode that adopts the trades you opened by hand and manages them for you.

01

Full Telegram remote control

Change mode, set targets, arm the trail, adjust averaging, close a side or close every loser — all from your phone, wherever you are. Status on request, and it talks back.

02

Interactive on-chart dashboard

A collapsible panel with real buttons: BUY, SELL, CLOSE ALL, CLOSE BUY/SELL, CLOSE LOSERS, CLOSE PROFITABLE, HEDGE, TRAIL. No digging through the inputs dialog mid-trade.

03

Three ways to drive it

Auto runs on its own. Manual waits for you to seed each basket by button. Auto + Manual Helper adopts trades you opened yourself and manages them alongside its own.

04

Drag your exits on the chart

Target, drawdown stop and trailing lines are draggable objects. Move one and that's the new level. Edit a stop loss from the MT5 phone app and Lahoog adopts it as the basket's DD level.

05

Watchdog with dual-channel alerts

It watches the connection and the AutoTrading permission, and tells you the moment either drops — over Telegram and MT5 push, so an alert still reaches you when the network is the thing that failed.

06

Smooth Stop

One switch to wind down cleanly: finish the baskets that are open, start no new ones. Far better than yanking the EA off a chart mid-basket.

07

Every pair, every session

No symbol whitelist. Optional session-hours filter with three separate windows, plus a day-of-week filter, so you can shape exactly when it's allowed to trade.

08

Winner closes loser

Optional cross-liquidation: when one basket is far enough in profit and the combined net clears your threshold, it closes both and banks the difference.

09

Free lifetime updates

Improvements go out to every user at no cost. This is version 33 — it's been through a lot of revisions and it keeps getting them.

Risk & recovery

Lahoog is a grid system. Here's exactly what that means.

We're going to describe this accurately rather than flatteringly, because a grid EA behaves in a way that catches people out — and you should understand it before it's running on your money.

⚠ How the exposure actually works

Lahoog runs two independent baskets on one pair — a BUY basket and a SELL basket — and each one can hold multiple positions. As price moves against an open basket, it adds further levels at set intervals. Individual trades therefore do not carry their own stop loss by default. Risk is managed at the basket level: the whole group closes together on a profit target, a trailing lock, or a drawdown stop.

That design is what lets a basket recover a bad entry. It's also what makes a strong one-directional trend the dangerous case: the basket keeps adding while price keeps going, and exposure grows exactly when you'd want it shrinking. The drawdown stop is the thing standing between that and your balance. Leave it on.

If you want a broker-side stop on every leg as well, Lahoog can push the drawdown level to the server as a real SL. It's an option, not the default — turn it on if you want the extra protection against your terminal dying mid-basket.

Guards that ship switched on
Per-basket drawdown stopCloses the whole basket once it's this far underwater. Your primary line of defence — don't disable it.
Profit target, trailing lock & breakeven floorThree ways a basket can close in profit: a fixed target, a trail that locks gains back from the peak, or a floor that protects breakeven once armed.
Cap on positions per basketA hard ceiling on how many levels a basket can open. The grid cannot expand forever.
Pre-trade margin checkEach new level is only opened if the margin it needs stays within a safe share of your free margin.
Spread filterSkips entries when the spread is wider than your limit — which is when scalping costs the most.
One-second exit timerExits and drawdown checks run on a timer, not just on incoming ticks, so a quiet market can't leave a basket unmanaged.
Connection & permission watchdogAlerts you over Telegram and MT5 push if the terminal disconnects or AutoTrading gets switched off.
Instant manual overrideCLOSE ALL, CLOSE LOSERS and Smooth Stop are one button or one Telegram message away. You never lose control of your account.
Aggressive options — off until you enable them
Averaging ladder Off by defaultA second ladder that deliberately adds against an open basket to pull its breakeven closer. Powerful, and the fastest way to turn a bad day into a terminal one.
Escalating lot modes Fixed by defaultLevels can scale linearly or by multiplier instead of staying flat. Multiplier scaling is a martingale in everything but name.
Per-leg hedge mirror Off by defaultOpens an opposing position when a leg moves far enough against you. Caps the bleed, adds complexity.
Worth switching on — off by default, but you probably want them
+
Equity stopHalts trading — and optionally flattens everything — when Lahoog's own floating loss passes a percentage of your balance.
+
Whole-account drawdown stopA dollar figure across your entire account, not just Lahoog's trades. Closes everything and stops. Set this one.
+
Broker-side stop loss on every legPushes the drawdown level to the server as a real SL, so your stops survive a terminal crash or a dead VPS.

⚠ If you enable the averaging ladder or multiplier lots

Strategies that add against a losing basket, or that scale position size upward as losses accumulate, can consume an entire account. A basket averaging into a sustained trend grows its exposure with no natural stopping point other than the drawdown stop or your margin running out. This is how most grid accounts eventually end.

A larger balance does not make it safe. It changes how long the sequence runs before it reaches the same place. Use money whose total loss wouldn't change anything for you, keep the drawdown and account-level stops armed, and don't run it somewhere you can't watch.

Requirements

What you need to run it.

No hidden requirements and no surprise costs. This is the full list.

Platform
MetaTrader 5 onlyLahoog is built for MT5. There is no MT4 version and none is planned.
Account type
Axi MT5 — Swap-Free, HedgingBoth matter. Swap-free because a grid basket held across rollover bleeds on swap alone. Hedging because Lahoog runs BUY and SELL baskets at the same time — it will refuse to start on a netting account. Select swap-free during signup; switching later usually means opening a different account.
Broker
Axi — live account onlySupport for additional brokers is planned; there's no date yet and we won't pretend otherwise.
Minimum balance
$100Our recommended starting point. A grid needs room to open several levels before its exits come into play — below this, margin gets tight fast.
Pairs
All pairs — one per chartNo symbol whitelist. Lahoog trades a single pair per instance; run it on more charts to trade more pairs, and remember that multiplies your exposure.
Sessions
All sessionsRun it whenever you want to trade. No forced time windows.
VPS
Recommended — New York 3Not required, and Lahoog runs fine without one. But NY3 puts you closest to the trade servers, and lower latency is where a scalping tool gains or loses the most. If you run it from your own machine, that machine has to stay awake and online. Setup guide →
Strategy type
Dual-basket gridMultiple positions per basket, exits managed at basket level rather than per trade. Read Risk & Recovery before running it — this is the part that surprises people.
Telegram control
Optional — needs a botRemote control runs through your own Telegram bot. Create one free with @BotFather, paste the token and your chat ID into the inputs. Setup guide →
Cost

Straight talk

Why there are no profit numbers on this page.

Because you're the one operating it. Lahoog has around a hundred adjustable inputs — grid spacing, level caps, lot rules, exits, filters, whether the averaging ladder is on. Your configuration matters more than the tool does. Two traders can run the same file in the same week and end up nowhere near each other.

So any equity curve we posted would be our settings, on one pair, in one market period — and it would tell you almost nothing about yours. Plenty of grid EAs are sold on exactly that screenshot. It's the oldest trick in this business, and the accounts behind those screenshots are usually gone by the time you see them.

What we will say plainly: you can lose money with Lahoog, and you can lose all of it if you run the averaging ladder or multiplier lots without a drawdown stop. It manages exposure, it doesn't remove risk. Anyone who tells you otherwise about any trading tool is selling you something.

Why it's free

You're not the product. Your volume is.

We hand Lahoog out personally, over Telegram, to people trading an Axi account under our introducing-broker code. That's the entire arrangement — no fee, no subscription, no upsell later, and nothing to cancel.

Doing it by hand rather than as a public download is deliberate. It keeps the tool off the resale sites where it would be stripped and rebranded, and it means everyone running it has actually spoken to us — which makes support far better than a comments section ever manages.

To be transparent: we earn introducing-broker commission based on your trading volume. A grid scalper generates more volume than a swing approach, so our interests and yours are not perfectly aligned — factor that in when you decide how much to risk. We'd rather say that plainly than have you work it out later.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask.

Is it really free?

Yes. No purchase, no subscription, no paid tier. The condition is that you trade it on an Axi MT5 swap-free live account under our introducing-broker code.

Why does it have to be a Swap-Free account?

Overnight swap charges distort the economics a scalping tool depends on, and a recovery basket held across rollover can bleed on swap alone even while the trades themselves are fine. Choose MT5 Swap-Free when you sign up. If you've already opened a standard account, contact Axi — in most cases you'll need to open a separate swap-free one, which is why we flag it before you start.

Can I use it with another broker?

Right now we only give it out to Axi clients under our IB — that's what pays for it being free. Support for other brokers is planned, and existing users will get that update free, but we're not going to give you a date we can't keep.

I already have an Axi account. Do I need a new one?

Not if it's already MT5 swap-free — just ask Axi support to transfer it to IB code 4743869, then submit the form. If it isn't swap-free, you'll need to open one that is.

What happens if I change my Axi account?

Just message us on Telegram with the new account number, or submit the form again. As long as the new account is under our IB you keep using Lahoog exactly as before — no charge, no limit, nothing to reinstall.

How much do I need to start?

We recommend $100 as a minimum. It'll technically run on less, but position sizing has so little room that a normal losing sequence hurts more than it should.

Do I need a VPS?

Not required — it runs fine on your own computer, as long as that computer stays on and connected. We do recommend one, specifically New York 3, because it sits closest to the trade servers and latency matters more for scalping than for anything else. There's a setup guide in the docs.

Which pairs and sessions can I trade?

All of them. There's no symbol whitelist and no forced trading window — you decide what to run it on and when.

Does Lahoog use martingale?

Not by default, but it can. Lot sizing ships fixed — every grid level the same size — and the averaging ladder ships off. Switch on multiplier lot scaling or the averaging ladder and you have a martingale in all but name. Both are there because some traders want them. Read Risk & Recovery before you touch either.

Is it a grid EA? Do trades have stop losses?

Yes, it's a grid, and no — not individually by default. Each basket holds multiple positions and closes as a group on a profit target, a trailing lock, or a drawdown stop. If you want a broker-side SL on every leg as well, there's an option that pushes the drawdown level to the server as a real stop. Worth turning on if you're worried about your terminal dying mid-basket.

How much can I lose?

Potentially the whole balance. A grid basket in a sustained one-directional trend keeps adding exposure while price keeps moving, and there's a point at which the account can't support it. The drawdown stop and the account-level stop exist precisely for that; keep them armed and set them at a number you can live with.

Why does it need a hedging account?

Lahoog runs a BUY basket and a SELL basket simultaneously on the same pair. That's only possible on a hedging account — on a netting account the two would cancel each other out. Lahoog checks at startup and refuses to run if the account is netting.

What's "Auto + Manual Helper" mode?

Our favourite feature. Lahoog adopts trades you opened by hand and manages them with the same exits it uses for its own baskets — target, trail, breakeven floor, drawdown stop. You keep making the entry decisions; it handles the babysitting.

How does the Telegram control work?

You create your own bot through @BotFather — free, takes two minutes — and paste the token and your chat ID into Lahoog's inputs. After that you can check status, switch modes, move targets, arm the trail, close a side or close every loser from your phone. Only your chat ID is whitelisted, so nobody else can command it. Setup guide →

Do I have to leave it running unattended?

You shouldn't. Smooth Stop lets you wind down cleanly, CLOSE ALL is one button or one Telegram message, and the watchdog pings you if the connection or AutoTrading drops. A grid is not a set-and-forget system — treat anything claiming otherwise with suspicion.

Will you show the strategy or source code?

No. The entry logic and the tuning stay private. What we do publish is exactly how the exposure builds and how it's capped — the part that affects your account.
